A leader is never born, he is shaped by the circumstances. The way one takes on the challenges, with innovation and a never-ending spirit of winning, is what makes one a leader.
Featuring for The Business Fame’s this issue of The Most Innovative Business Leaders Revamping the Future 2021 is Brian J. Esposito, a leader of his word.
The Challenges that Shaped the Leader-
Challenges are a necessary part of life, whether it’s personally or professionally, they are a comin’. Some things that entrepreneurs can find comfort in is that you are not alone. Whether you are a start-up that is pre-revenue, or a billion-dollar company, nobody is immune. What is important is to surround yourself with qualified, supportive, ethical, and effective professional services firms such as legal, accounting, compliance, as well as a strong, positive, and supportive inner circle.
“What I have found to be extremely motivating is the clever strategy, courage, and strength in myself to overcome those challenges.”
When you are a leader, you are facing hurdles across every angle, and sometimes all at once. Sitting in the corner and crying “why me”, does not fix anything. It actually makes it much harder as you cannot fix or correct anything if you are addressing it from a place or emotion or dealing with any internal demons. Take a deep breath, park your emotions, and tackle each challenge from a cool, calm environment, and place of peace. That’s when you make the correct decisions, and they are not just reactionary. As you grow and evolve an entrepreneur’s job is to prevent challenges from happening, thanks to all the experiences you have accumulated.
“The harder the journey, the more rewarding the outcome.”
Ranked among the world’s Top 10 CEOs for 2020 & 2021 in The World CEO Rankings Awards by Adria Management, LLC, Brian J. Esposito is the founder and CEO of Esposito Intellectual Enterprises, LLC, (EIE). An award-winning serial entrepreneur and business leader, he is recently renowned for being a core part of an innovative team to build Nodle—the world’s largest wireless network and ecosystem of connected devices. In addition, also being a core part of team TurnCoin and the launch of VirtualStax through TheXchange. TheXchange is the company behind VirtualStaX & the VirtualStaX App: A people-driven platform that empowers individuals to achieve their dreams, while giving their fans a vehicle to support them, share in their journey, and participate in their success. TheXchange currently has the public support of Drew Brews, Patrick Mahomes, Randy Jackson, David Melzter, and Jean de Villiers—and for one of his early businesses, which ranked among The Fastest-Growing Private Companies by Inc. 5000 for six consecutive years.
In December 2019, he was featured in The Corporate Investment Times, the next-gen investment magazine in the Middle East. With over 20 years of experience in high-profile executive roles involving complex business challenges and high-stakes decisions, Brian founded Esposito Intellectual Enterprises (EIE) in New York. Wholly owned by Brian, EIE currently consist of 75+ entities, and 150+ joint ventures operating in over 25 industry focuses which are one degree from any industry or market that Brian may want to enter into, and do business in. With a technique that he spent years perfecting; Brian connects not only the right people but the right people at the right time.
“Integrity is at the core of who we are and what we do at EIE. We strive to do good business with good people,”
The Company-
Because EIE is involved heavily in over 25 different industries, the products, solutions, IP, and technology in its holdings are vast. The key thing at EIE is having all these entities work together in sharing resources, talent, and opportunities to create value for the entire holdings, or any companies in which EIE is honoured to work with. It’s about creating win/win situations for everyone to ethically participate in. That means properly creating, developing, and efficiently distributing products that the market is demanding. These are not fad items, but products that have a long-term need, and that EIE can get out into the market that are priced and distributed properly to ensure we generate positive cash flows and momentum. Creating a well-oiled machine and process is vital to the success, growth, and health of EIE and all its holdings. One incorrect move or working with the wrong company, or people, can not only jeopardize the project, but the entire model.
Brian’s most notable milestone was learning how to build success, lose it all due to a car accident he was involved in 2016 when a drunk driver hit him head on, and be able to rebuild with less than nothing. When life gives you challenges or hurdles it is very easy to become angry and bitter. Everything in life is relative to your world, and for him, he saw the devil, and was in a very dark place. Brian knew he needed to go through those 5 stages of grief as quickly as possible and rebuild.
“I was very cognizant that I would never be able to recover financially if I was also dealing with negative internal feelings or revenge.”
It felt as if his entire professional world turned their back on him during this time, and he learned this was not their fault, it was Brian’s fault for having the wrong people with him on the journey. He took full responsibility and vowed to never be in that position again. That’s when you heal, that’s when you grow, and that’s when you evolve when you look inward and point blame and reasons on yourself.
“I have a very open to the world person and it’s energy type of personality. That’s what has allowed me to always find myself in unique situations.”
The Road Ahead-
Right now, the model at EIE is quite unique and scalable. It is finally an ecosystem that Brian has built that can go on to continue to create value, with, or without him. It is imperative that the most important thing to always consider is properly picking the right people and companies to work with or partner with. Money is a by-product of doing good work with good people at EIE, therefore, the company is known to turn down more business than we accept. It only takes 1 bad person to jeopardies everything. With that, the future is to continue doing what we are doing and creating.
Brian’s Advice to the Budding Entrepreneurs-
“First and foremost, you have my ultimate admiration as this is one of the most important chapters of your life which takes quite a lot of courage. You may find yourself initially without much support of friends and family, and that’s okay. Do not be discouraged and you must always follow your passion and where your heart is taking you. They will get there, and unfortunately, it’s usually after you succeed, but again that’s okay, as everyone has their own levels of being risk adverse. Also key, is knowing that there is no such thing as failure. You are now on a journey of exciting ups and downs, and you are starting to become fully in your control of your desired destiny. Each moment is a learning decision that is equipping you to be a well-seasoned entrepreneur and founder. If this venture does not make it, that just means that you will have a better idea of what to do, but more importantly what not to do, on the next one. If it was easy what would be the fun of that.”
