BH has established a strong customer base in UK and Canada and have offices set up and teams over there. The Prominent Leader
Jay Arora is the Founder of Bug Hunters and started BH in 2015 as a single employee in a one-room office with a vision to create a world-class software testing experience for the clients. He himself has been in the IT industry for more than 15 years.
Gradually, as this dream started to turn into reality, Jay’s brother Sachin also joined in as Director of the organization, and it became a family business with Jay more focused on bringing in more clients and creating a business model while Sachin sticks to his forte of technology and keeps abreast of all the products and what is happening inside the company at the QA level.
Challenges Faced
BH believes that being a relatively younger organisation, they have had its fair share of challenges and that they are still learning.
The first challenge faced by BH is the remote working model that had to be implemented due to the pandemic, which was straining the company financially and resourcing. The solution that best suited was to make sure that there is a sense of trust between the team members and the company transparency. So, the company implemented remote working and the hybrid model when things started moving to normalcy. They also ensured that they provided the team with all required resources, solutions, etc. to achieve their targets.
Another challenge BH confronted was to stay up to date with the latest tools and technologies. The solution to this was having a vital Research & Development team and their POCs that they really work hard on and passing on the knowledge to all of the team members, creating learning opportunities for them and making all of them learn and evolve.
The Turning Point
Jay believes that going into the pandemic was a turning or, in fact, a learning point for BH. After being in the business for 4 or so years, it could have been tough for them when small businesses were finding it difficult to survive. Under the able leadership of Jay, BH held its ground and ensured its clients still believed in them.
“We took a leap of faith and continued with the remote working model. We trusted our employees and us, worked ten times harder, pushed through those difficult times and emerged out of that high tide really strong. It gives us immense pride that today, we are an organisation employing 50 + QA associates and going more vital than ever,” says Jay.
The Success Mantra
On asking about the success mantra of BH, Jay states that, “The success in our eyes is the fact that our employees have blind faith in us, we are a team and share the common vision of achieving excellence because, for us, it’s not just the founder and CEO who can be considered responsible for the success and growth of a company. We feel that each of us has worked hard to be where we are, and we know that together we can achieve much greater good.”
Jay along with other head management team really believe in the saying that – ‘All work and no play can make Jack a dull boy.’ That is why they emphasize to incorporate team bonding sessions from time to time with activities like – playing games, holding quizzes, best team awards, and best performance to keep them at the edge of their seats each month to keep it light. They also make it sure that the team can develop a sense of solidarity beyond the usual professional relationships through this exemplary approach.
The Best Piece of Advice
“One piece of advice would be to keep your head down and work really hard. If you know that you have a solid 10-year plan of what you would like to achieve 10 years down the line, try to do that in 5 years. Have an aim and work hard towards it,” asserts Jay while advising the budding entrepreneurs in the industry.
The Luminating Future
Bug Hunters have some really interesting projects underway at the moment, which require special skill sets as they are more towards new automation testing techniques. This required the company to acquire some learning which is always a plus for its testing professionals.
The future plan of BH is to have a much more significant global presence and to build a solid customer base for its services in different countries. It has started executing this plan and set up its offices in Canada and UK. The company is already marking its presence there, but there is still much more that the company is aiming for, and that is – Global domination.
