Founded in 2016, Resecurity, Inc. has been globally recognized as one of the world’s most innovative cybersecurity companies with the sole mission of protecting enterprises globally from evolving cyber threats through intelligence. Resecurity, Inc. has developed a global reputation for providing best of breed data-driven intelligence solutions.
The company started with the vision of building a new endpoint protection solution and building the right endpoint that could defend against actual attack. The company states, “It was academic for us, but little did we know that the entire software development lifecycle would take us this long.”
Below are the highlights of the interview conducted between The Business Fame and Resecurity.
Q. Brief us about the experience, early issues, success stories, and major milestones, to name a few.
We made our first pivot. While the product was being developed, let’s use the DNA of the solution (data) and provide the best threat intelligence platform. And this is how Context™ started. Yes, we know there are a lot of players out there about “intelligence”, but we didn’t want to be like the watchtower in a castle. We wanted to go further than anyone else. Well, we like to think that we are the drones of cyber threat intelligence. The key to intelligence is human intelligence analysts, and that’s the only way you’re going to get tailored intelligence for your customers.
The second pivot happened when we started seeing that most organizations needed quality intelligence but lacked the time, resources, and money to keep an eye out for bad guys beyond the walls. You see, Context™ was a powerful data workbench and it couldn’t scale down for smaller organizations. So, why not use the same data and make it simpler, flexible, and scalable for any size organization? Thus, was born Risk™ Digital Risk Monitoring Platform.
Being privately held has its advantages and disadvantages. In the last 5 years, we have learned a lot. But it also helped us mature as a team, and albeit the growth was slow, doing things properly, from administration to operations, was something that I would never look back. There were a lot of ups and downs – as expected and being unknown in 2019 and coming out of stealth without major funding to market our products and services was very intense.
One thing I would say is that I have the utmost appreciation from our clients. Believe it or not, the last three years have 100% client retention and are growing globally.
Q. Brief us about the CEO/Founder of the company?
When we started Resecurity, we wanted to be about security and the quality of data. Which is why we have very little footprint on the team. This was done on purpose. As you can imagine, we work in cyber warfare, and it was key for us to protect our team at all costs. Which is why you see very little about us. But in general, Resecurity is built by operators, which means that most of us have been in the business for over 20 years with backgrounds in military, intelligence, enterprise, and operations.
Q. Kindly tell us about the exclusive products or services offered by the company. How does it distinguish you from your competitors?
Our portfolio of products is built around data; data, which we call all-source intelligence. So, think of our world built on top of a big data lake of intelligence, curated, and tailored to each of our customers, acquired to each of our customers’ specifications and mission needs. Context™ is the first layer of the data workbench, whereas Risk™ is the business view. The Endpoint will be the last piece to connect all the dots together to protect enterprise ecosystems.
Customers come to us to get quality intelligence that goes back to data. That’s really the key, tailored to each of our customers. In the end, we are a data company.
Q. What is the vision and mission of the company?
We like to keep things simple. The vision and mission of the company is to provide quality products and services to protect our customers.
Q. What is the present scenario of the cybersecurity industry? How are you contributing to making it better?
You know, I’ve been a buyer for over 28 years before we started Resecurity. 10 years ago, there were so many solutions that really made sense and the industry really came forward to develop a solution for the constantly changing threat landscape. Today, it’s a different story. From a technology standpoint, so much has changed, and cloud adoption has created this massive pandora box. The present and near future is going to be a battle, to meet the changing technology environment and find solutions to defend and protect against it, all the while ensuring compliance and regulatory requirements. From our industry standpoint, we also need to be honest about what we are providing and how to address the ever-changing enterprise ecosystems vs. point solutions.
We are heavily invested in partnerships and being part of many industry groups, to share ideas, explain what’s going on and where it’s really happening. Not marketing, but real, in-depth conversations with our customers and partners in education.
Q. What are the marketing strategies adopted by the company?
COVID-19 really changed the playing field. We spent the better part of 2020 looking ahead to see what should be for the next 5 years. As you can imagine, the past norm of operations is no longer true. Virtual and digital marketing will be key for us and will continue for the foreseeable future.
Q. With respect to your distinctive products and services, how have you helped bring positive developments to the cybersecurity industry?
In the industry, we are still at an early stage but growing and we look toward our industry giants and honestly learn from them. We are recognized by our peers and customers not through marketing, but because of the quality of the data that we bring to the table.
Q. What is the current cybersecurity industry scenario from your perspective?
We are all evolving and adapting to emerging threats. It’s a battle for all of us. There is a lot of consolation happening all around us, which I also believe is a positive thing, but as the world becomes more data focused, the need for quality intelligence will become imperative.
